About Pink Moss

Pink Moss is the story of my life as a mother of six daughters, a serial entrepreneur husband, and a newly adopted son.  Not a day goes by without a story to tell or a reason to laugh.

Sydney {a.k.a. Rooz}

is my bonus (step) daughter.  She came into my life at the ripe old age of one.  We have been buddies from the start and I have always enjoyed being the *other mom* in her life.  She is strong willed and fun loving. She was recently married to Scott {a.k.a. Scotty}

 Next in line is my daughter Kinley {a.k.a. Mackaroochie or just Mack}

She has a quirky sense of humor and always keeps me guessing.  She was a super hard toddler and such a sweet teenager.  I would take that switch any day.  She is a huge help to all of her siblings and to my sense of humor.  Who could ask for more from an almost 15 year old?

Whitney {a.k.a. Noo}
Reminds me of myself in a lot of ways.  She is sensitive to other peoples feelings and wants everyone to feel happy.  She is an accomplished dancer and is a natural at many things she tries.  She is 13 years old and grows up a bit more each day!

This is Brighton {a.k.a. Sprite}

She has a passion for education and soccer.  It is not uncommon to walk into her room at night and find her studying the globe, reading a science book, or writing.  She is witty and creative.  Her determination combined with her talents will take her wherever she wants to go!

This is Ella {a.k.a. Monkey}

Big hugs and a sweet giggle come easily to her.  I often laugh that she dresses like a princess but can wrestle like a WWF chick.  Ella loves to help with her younger sister and brother and is a great helper around the house.

After giving birth to Ella, it took me three years to decide that I wanted one more baby and not just because I wanted a boy.  After a year of trying, I was pregnant with my last baby girl

Halle {a.k.a. Bug}

She is the youngest in every sense of the word.  She says older sister sayings with her diva four year old self and makes us laugh daily.  I used to feel bad that she was stuck at the end, four years younger than everyone else...but eventually I realized that there was a bigger plan that I didn't know yet.  Someone else that would need a buddy.

This is our family Spring of 2010.  I was sure we were complete
{pretty in pink}

but if there is one thing I have learned in life it's that the second you think you know what to expect,

it all changes.

Along came Jordan {a.k.a. Handsome}.

He was an answer to a prayer said in solitude...a petition and a  special request to my Heavenly Father; the chance to raise a son.

And together we make our family.

A blog originally named for all the girls, but Handsome had something else in mind.  I believe children come to us in all different ways but are meant to be there just the same, just the same as a biological child, they are part of you.

I would love to have you join in my journey each day as I set out to change the world, one mommy lesson at a time.  I love to see the bright, funny, and hopeful through this world of uncertainty. If you have anything you'd like to share with me, feel free to send me a note.  I love meeting my readers and hear how my crazy life affects theirs!

Oh, and I love:

to chew ice
water skiing
new shoes
sandwiches
swinging in the hammock
hiking in the mountains
laughing with my kids
reading a good book
square ice cream
Music
Dancing in the kitchen
and writing on my blog

Nice to meet you!
