500 Posts!

Really?  I have posted 500 times?!  I can't believe it AT ALL.

I have had a ton of fun sharing random glimpses of my life.  Some are serious and others are grotesque *such is the life of a mother*  and THAT my friends leads me to post number 501!

Today was another rat race in the saga of Pink Moss.  After school I fed them a snack and started homework just in time to realize Sprite had a soccer game in Salem to get to.  We picked up her soccer buddy and drove out ... way out.... to the game.  It was a miracle I made it because I am horrible with addresses and didn't have my mobile navigator thingy.

Suddenly I had a light bulb!  An APP!  There has to be an app for this sort of thing!! I whipped out my iphone and typed in the address and guess what?!  It worked, in a round about sort of way.  It didn't talk to me like I would have liked, but it did give me a visual.  I just love it when the lady on my navigator says "Recalculating" so calmly and unaffected by my ignorance when I take a wrong turn.  It is much nicer than 6 back seat drivers yelling,

"MOM!  When are we going to get there!!"

I would much rather hear

"Recalculating"

ANYWAY, when we arrived B ran onto the field ready to play her game.  Then the words came.  The infamous 3 year old words.  You know them, "Mama, I gotta go!!"

"What? Now??" *Yes of course yes* and of course there wasn't a bathroom for miles and I couldn't leave my kids or the game.  What do they expect parents to do with several young kids during a soccer game when they "gotta go?"

I fully agree, they must expect us to use the facilities or in other words, the grass.  Now after having so many girls, I don't agree with the theory of "Penis envy" as some theories would have us accept.  I believe a girl can do anything a guy can do, and possibly better.  There is no such thing as, "Hold it until we can find a bathroom" in our home.  So I drug bug across the grass until I got to the side of the school.  I could have pulled it down right then and there but I knew there would be some soccer mommies that would be disgusted so we waited.

I could tell that bug was struggling holding it, so when we got there I yanked down her pants and put her into the squat position.  I even got it on my phone because I thought it was so funny.

Next thing I hear after I stopped laughing was
"Mama, I had'da go poo not pee".
Gulp
Now what?  I shook her off as to not have any cling ons without toilet paper, stood her up and set her aside.  Sure enough...a mighty fine pile lay beneath her tucked nicely into the green grass.  This would make for a fine treat tomorrow when a kindergartner ran in from recess with something on their foot.

I scrambled to find a rock so I could fling it over, out of the path and covered it with grass.

Barf.

I didn't plan on telling the other soccer mommies until B lost the game.  I was so sad for her *especially being goalie* that I told the other parents that they needn't worry because I left a turd on the home teams lawn.  Nobody talked to me after that, nobody.

That is why I love you, my Internet blog friends.  For some reason you accept me for who and what I am, as nasty as that may be.  Bless you my friends, bless you.

Rain Rain Come Play

I have been one busy lady the past few weeks.  Life is swirling around us as we get everything back onto a schedule for the new school year.  I decided last minute to transfer all of my kids to another school  after they had started at their last one already for a day.  I know, crazy....I just felt like it was the right thing so they would all be on the same schedule.  I have been transferring records, taking kids to entrance exams, buying a TON of new uniforms, and getting class schedules figured out. Once things calm down a bit, it will be so quiet but I haven't experienced it yet.

As I was driving the kids to school this morning I realized the drive may take a bit longer than usual because it was stop and go traffic.  It gradually got worse and I ended up sitting on the freeway for an hour and a half!  Come to find out there was a crash up ahead of me where a semi hit a van and sent it out of control over the over pass onto the road below killing the man instantly.  So sad.  Life can end so abruptly.

When I finally got the school the kids were so excited to get out because it was their 2nd first day of school.  They were ready to meet new friends and teachers.

There is great article just written on food allergies on the Help Me Grow Blog if you want to check it out! I am convinced that a few of my kids have a food allergy that I need to figure out.  It is so frustrating to know it but feel lost about to find out what it is.  That's how I feel anyway.

So, on another completely different note, I wanted to add some pictures from another outing a few weeks ago. Emmy and I took our kids (and some neighbor kids) to Thanksgiving Point.  It was a  beautiful warm summers day that ended up being one of my favorite "Utah weather" type of days.  The sun was bright and the clouds were black...rain looming above us promising to freshen up the ground and cool the air.

Right when we got there it started to rain.  Not the sprinkle kind of rain, I mean REALLY rain complete with HUGE bolts of lightning and booming thunder.  It was so loud that we all stopped doing what we were doing and just watch...

and listen.

This is how it affected Monkey's face!

Don't worry, she isn't cold....just scared.  It was very hot!
We spent some of our time under cover checking out the

Nasty Llamas.

I realized yesterday *when my nephew Avery gave me a homemade Llama hat for my upcoming birthday* that Llama is spelled the way the Llama looks.  You are supposed to pull your neck back...getting ready to spit when you say it , just like that one Llama did in my hair and face.

Click here to find out why
I Hate Llamas.

Bug wasn't letting the rain and thunder slow her down...
NO WAY
Uh- Uh.

Here's my ticket!

And then there is my sweet hubby walking around feeding the chickens with my kids in the rain.  He was in the middle of a work day and happen to already be at Thanksgiving Point meeting with the facility managers when he saw us!  Now that is pure luck because he visits multiple facilities all over Utah and juggles the other businesses as well.  I love that he stopped in the middle of all of it to take time for the kids.

Afterward we treated the kids to ice cream at the old fashion creamery.

 It was to die for!

I just thought of a fun rain video to share with you.

10 Gallon Hat

What does every girl need when she gets her wisdom teeth ripped out of her head?

 A knight in shining armour...

or a cute cowboy in a 10 gallon hat and kickin' boots, holding flowers!?

I vote for the cowboy.

Even though Rooz is barley tall enough to reach his face for a thank you kiss.  It's rough having a tall, dark, and handsome boyfriend at your beck and call.

Watching Rooz in such pain made me sad because she is a tough girl.  The meds messed with her head to the point that when Scott brought her home from the dentist she CRIED when he told her she had to go home and lay down instead of making the trip with him to get a jamba juice.

Cried....

Any of you that know Rooz, understand that this doesn't sound like her at all.  When she walked in the front door with him I asked if she was laughing or crying.

Scott said, "ummm, both...?!"

It was so cute to watch him dote over her and look like a lost puppy when he had to go back to work.  He kept asking me if I had given her the right meds and changed her gauze at the right times.  I couldn't help but remember when I was Rooz's age and Jon took care of me the same way when I had to have surgery.

I'm happy Rooz picked a cowboy that would take care of her like her dad did for me.  When I was in college it was a regular thing to wake up in the morning and run out to my car in a hurry to get to school. Snow is not uncommon in these parts, but I never had to worry about slipping....

Jon would have shoveled the walk from my apartment door to my car!  He'd put little roses from the gas station on my windshield and roll it in a $20 bill.  I would hop into my car and realize he had filled my empty tank of gas...yet again.

Yes, I am spoiled.....so ladies, pick a good one!

Let's hear it for the boys!
(I forgot to mention that Scott doesn't usually dress like this.  It was an outfit he bought for the local rodeo {for fun}...and to make Rooz laugh even though she felt horrible)

I Gotta Go!

A Beautiful Day at Gateway S.L.C.

"Mommy, I gotta go potty!!"

"OK honey, just go right over....there."

"Eww, I can feel it going down my legs!"

"Mom, are you sure it's OK?"

"I think everyone is looking at me."

Meanwhile mommy turns her head to talk to another child...

"Bug, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!"

"Mommy, I had to wash off!"
{As she rubs her bootie back and forth on the pavement like a sick dog}

"Bug! Come here NOW!"

"But mommy I have to wash off!"
{She waits for the water to spray up and positions herself perfectly...a homemade bidet}

"Owwww!"

Pineview

Pink Moss goes to PIneview!

This summer has been busy busy busy.  I have a million photos that haven't made it to the blog and feel somewhat overwhelmed.  I figure I will just start posting a clump at a time and maybe...just maybe be caught up by next summer!

One of the highlights over the past month was spending time with extended family that we rarely get to see!  I had my cousin Kim and her family stay with us for a week and my brother Dave and his family stay with us for another week.  While everyone was around we took a quick trip to Pineview reservoir where we enjoyed camping, boating, and catching up on every ones lives.  Aunt Jan, Ally, my parents, Dave, Camille, Mandy LP and many more were there.

Pineview is the lake I grew up water skiing on until it started getting too busy.  The lake isn't very big and when there are a bunch of boats on it during the weekend, it can be scary.  I remember holding my ski up in the air as high as possible so as to not be hit by another boat when I fell one time.  Pineview is also the lake where I competed in a triathlon and almost drown..OK, not really but close enough for me!

I loved watching everyone enjoy the campfire at Pineview and reunite!  This was our first official trip camping in tents.  My kids set them up in the backyard and play in them, but we haven't stayed in them for several nights yet.  I love to camp but have always had little babies and the hotel usually wins if we travel :)  We have taken a moterhome before when we have visited Goblin Valley and other places off the beaten path, but I love sleeping in the fresh air.

What is it about motor homes that stink?  Maybe it's just me but there is always a funky smell to them.  Maybe it's the flashbacks I'm having to when I was young.  We had an old motor home that smelled stale to me.  I remember loving to ride on the top and look out over the freeway.  My siblings and I used to count the bugs as they hit the windshield and marvel at the infinite colors of bug guts we saw!  That reminds me of a joke we used to always tell:

A-hem...
What is the last thing that goes through a bugs mind before it hits a windshield?
..........................................
HIS BUTT!
OK, now we can move on to some of the pictures that were taken!

Sprite and Bug loved snuggling up in thier sleeping bags

Monkey was very intent on pitching the tent with us.  She did a great job and didn't even smash a finger, which is actually quite surprising.

Kim's Daughter Lexie and Noo just hangin' out

Mandy has an amazing camera AND amazing talent for taking pictures.  I wish I had hers to add to my collection but I haven't gotten them yet.

My cousin Mandy and her hubby Brian sleeping outside under the stars.

Dave and his cute family

This is my neice Madisen...isn't she a DOLL!?

This is my cousin L.P. He is such a doll and has the cutest wife and baby ever!

SEE!

Jon pulled us all on the water weenie aka banana.  I laughed so hard I almost threw up..I am NOT exaggerating!! Kim was behind me saying the funniest things and I was having flashbacks to the days my dad pulled us on that thing for countless hours.

The kids all love wearing their life jackets on the other end when we are close to shore.  I thought I got them OUT of diapers!
