I said what I meant, and I meant what I said

  

I had to add Dr. Seuss to my collection of people I love to quote.

As you can see, I have 2 of his quotes on the front page of my blog!

“You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.”

“Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.”

“Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.”

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”

“Adults are just obsolete children and the hell with them.”

“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells.”

“You're in pretty good shape for the shape you are in.”

  

 I treasure Dr. Seuss's books even more now than when I was a kid. There's something quite magical about the way he tells a story, and those illustrations are so fun to look at!

I remember listening to my parents read me these books like it was yesterday. I would snuggle up on their lap and laugh with them at the lyrics and drawings. I remember all of the books that my parents read with me.  When I was young they read classic poems and stories mixed with picture books.  There is something very special about reading with mom and dad.  A bond forms that won't be forgotten.  White Fang, and Shane are just a few stories that are seared into my memory as I grew older.  Sometimes my mind would drift as I fell asleep, but I felt comforted just hearing their voice.

This is exactly the reason I try so hard to read with my kids daily.It doesn't always happen with every kid each day, but I give it my best shot!

I love people like Dr. Seuss that think a little bit different than everyone else. 

 It brings spice to life!  

What would we do with ourselves if we all acted and looked the same?!

That sounds like torture to me.
