Yellowstonin'

For Labor Day we decided to spend some time at cabin in Wyoming. We had lots of laughs and a great time! It was fun having my mom and dad there to hang out with! I love watching their relationship with my kids. They noticed things that I do like them and had a ton of fun. Jon and I decided to drive through Yellowstone. It took a long time and the kids got sick of the car at points, but it was still worth it. We saw things that they will never forget!

Jon took the girls riding on a dirt track by the Snake river. They are getting to be pretty good little riders! I am proud of them for not being sissy girls! They will play in the mud, four wheel, jump in the freezing water, hike, and hang with the guys anytime! But, when it is time, they also love to dress up.

When Jon took the girls four wheeling, Halle fell asleep. Jon decided to lay her down on the ground while he watched the girls ride around. He kept laughing because she looked dead!!

Kinley loves to take pictures of herself eating. She makes the funniest faces and poses.

My dad played the wii with the kids at the cabin. He is so fun to play with! He was laughing his head off trying to drive the big monster trucks. He also told the kids a funny bed time story at night about Yellowstone because it was always a tradition for me when I was young. They loved it! Brighton asked me one day if that was where I got the talent of pretending something was real when it wasn't! She is a bright girl that Brighton!

I was proud of my girls for jumping in even though it was SO cold!

My mother is an AMAZING water skier!! She skied about 12 miles without slowing down or falling. She smiles the whole time and looks beautiful! I would think skiing this far she would just hold on, but she cuts back and forth the whole time like a pro! I have some big shoes to fill! My mom and dad made me laugh so hard because I went out a second day alone with them while Jon went four wheeling with the girls. It was FREEZING!! That didn't matter much to us because we all love it. I did have to hold my arms in close to my body when I jumped in to keep my core body temperature up!!

I didn't post the inappropriate pictures Jon took! He thinks it is really funny to catch me in weird positions and take my picture. These pictures are the ones I could actually show!

I loved jumping in the freezing cold water! It reminded me of when I learned to ski on Jackson Lake when I was seven. It was refreshing and so much fun!!

After we went boating my dad drove up the Snake River. A little way up the river there was a raft coming down. They looked really tired so my dad asked if they needed a lift. They were so excited because they had rafted all the way from Jenny's Lake!

We found a great little picnic spot by Old Faithful.

Halle is an ultimate daddy's girl!

I did NOT know this was coming!

We hadn't seen ANY animals in Yellowstone ALL day! It wasn't until the sun started going down that we started seeing wild life. We took a little side road called Virginia Falls. After we turned we realized it was a one way road. There were amazing enormous waterfalls on the right side of the road, and a wall on the left. After driving about a mile there was a HUGE buffalo right in front of our car. It was so close as we drove by Jon could have pet it, but he didn't want it to get mad. The kids started screaming! After we passed it and drove another mile we got out and had a picnic in the dark because we were so hungry! Some of the kids opted to eat in the car.

The kids had fun playing outside in their dance clothes while my dad mowed the lawn.

I made my mom sit down for a few pics with the girls. I think she really enjoyed spending time with them at the cabin.
